AJ’s Wheel Centre was started from home when Tony Magaton had to find a more enjoyable line of work after having undergone a quad by-pass. He quickly progressed to having small displays at Classic Mustangs & Rod Stop as well as Eastern Wheel Works. Over time, Tony established his own factory in Bayswater North and has since become the authorised supplier of Boyd Coddington Wheels, Team 111 Wheels and wheels from Wheel Vintiques.

Tony has had a passion for cars going back many years. His first job was working part time at a gas station after school. From then on Tony continued to follow his automotive interest, ultimately accumulating over 30 years of experience in the wheel and tyre industry.

His first car was an FX (48-215) Holden, soon progressing onto a string of projects including two FJ Holden sedans, two FJ Holden panel vans, 3 EH Holdens, a 1931 Model A Ford coupe and a Model A tourer. His current projects consist of a 1934 Plymouth pickup on its second rebuild, a 1958 Chev Brookwood wagon, 1956 Chev wagon and a 1934 Chev Master sedan.

Tony has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in the wheel industry and his enthusiasm is boundless. Tony loves talking about cars and wheels. He especially understands the clearance problems often encountered when trying to cram maximum rubber under the fenders such as fouling on suspension parts and rubbing on outer guards. AJ’s motto is “We make the wheel fit your car”.
